How to Become a Hero?

Once upon a time, way up high in the sparkly mountains, lived a little dragon named Sparky. Sparky was a sweetie, but oh boy, was she a picky eater! She only liked to munch on yummy pink flowers. That’s it!
Mommy Dragon would bring her yummy bugs, and Daddy Dragon would offer her the juiciest red berries, but Sparky would just turn up her snout.
“No, thank you!” she’d say. “Only pink flowers for me!”

One sunny day, Sparky was playing with her bestest friend, a fluffy little kitten named Patches. Patches loved to tell stories, and today, he had a very special one.

“Sparky, Sparky,” Patches purred, “I know a story about a brave dragon, just like you! He was the strongest, fiercest dragon in all the land, and do you know how he got his powers?”

Sparky’s ears perked up. “How?” she asked, her tail swishing with curiosity.
Patches winked. “He got them from his food! It’s a true story! They say he got super strength from eating yummy, big chunks of meat! Every time he ate a big, juicy steak, he got stronger and stronger!”

Sparky’s eyes got wide. “Wow!”
Patches continued, “And his fire was the most powerful ever! They say he could make the biggest flames because he munched on crunchy nuts. The more nuts he ate, the hotter his fire got!”

“No way!” Sparky gasped.
“Way!” said Patches. “And he could fly super fast, faster than any bird, because he ate sweet, orange carrots. They made his wings super speedy!”

Sparky thought about this. A super strong, fire-breathing, super-fast flying dragon? That sounded amazing! And all he had to do was eat different foods?
Sparky looked at Patches. “Really, really true?”
Patches nodded. “Really, really true! My grandma the cat told me!”
Sparky’s tummy rumbled. She had never really thought about food before, except for pink flowers. But if she could be a super dragon…
“Okay,” Sparky said, “I will try!”
The next day, when Mommy Dragon brought her a plate of yummy, big chunks of meat, Sparky took a deep breath and took a tiny bite. “Mmm,” she said. “It’s…it’s not bad!” And she took another bite, and another. She did feel a little stronger!

Then, Daddy Dragon offered her some crunchy nuts. Sparky was a bit scared to try them, but she remembered the powerful fire, and she crunched one in her mouth.
“Crunch, crunch! These are good too!” And when she breathed a tiny puff of fire, it seemed a bit bigger than before!

After that, Sparky tried everything! She ate sweet, orange carrots, and her wings felt zoomy. She ate yummy bugs, and she felt like she could jump super high. She even tried green leafy things, and they made her roar extra loud!
And guess what? Sparky became the strongest, fastest, most fire-breathing dragon in the whole wide sparkly mountains.

Moral: Variety and open-mindedness in trying new things, especially food, can lead to unexpected and positive growth.
