Finn the fish is sad because he can’t read. His friend Fred helps him learn the letter “F” by finding examples everywhere they go – from fluffy feathers to fierce fish!

Finn the fish was feeling quite forlorn,
He fluttered his fins, feeling quite worn.
“I can’t read a single word,” he sighed with a frown,
“I wish I could learn, all around town!”

Finn can't read

He swam to his friend, Fred the friendly frog,
“Fred,” he cried, “I’m feeling quite groggy!”
“What’s the matter, Finn?” Fred asked with a hop,
“You seem quite forlorn, like a forgotten shop.”

“I can’t read,” Finn wailed, “It’s truly a fright,
I long to learn letters, both morning and night.”
“Well then,” said Fred, “Let’s focus our might,
On the letter ‘F’, shining ever so bright!”

Finn goes to seek help from a friend

First, they found a fluffy feather so fine,
“See that ‘F’ sound?” Fred said, “It’s truly divine!”
Then they saw a fierce fish, with fangs sharp as knives,
“Hear that ‘F’ sound?” Fred said, “It saves many lives!”

Finn and fierce fish

They frolicked and played, feeling free and so fast,
“Hear that ‘F’ sound?” Fred said, “It truly will last!”
They found a friendly flower, a fantastic sight,
“See that ‘F’ sound?” Fred said, “It’s blooming so bright!”

Finn and flower

Finn felt quite happy, his spirits did soar,
He finally understood, and longed to learn more.
He thanked Fred for helping, his friend so kind,
“You’re the finest friend I could ever find!”

Fred smiled and said, “Learning is a feast,
So let’s find some more words, a joyful release!”
They found a funny frog, who hopped and did flips,
And a fantastic feast, with tasty fish chips.

hear the F sound

They found a fluffy cloud, drifting so high,
And a friendly firefly, twinkling in the sky.
They found a fluffy sheep, grazing so sweet,
And a funny face, a comical treat.

Finn and fluffy clouds

Finn was so excited, he could barely contain,
All the ‘F’ words he learned, again and again.
He swam through the water, feeling quite grand,
The best little fish, in all the land.

He learned to read stories, both long and quite short,
And finally felt happy, no longer forlorn.
He thanked Fred one last time, with a grateful bow,
“You helped me learn ‘F’, I don’t know how!”

Finn and Fred are best friends

So if you ever feel stuck, and learning’s a fright,
Just find a friend to help, and shine ever so bright.
For with a little effort, and a friend by your side,
You can learn anything, no matter how you try!
